Questions about this service
What does self-hosted actually mean?
n8n runs on a server you control, for example with a German hosting provider. Workflow data only leaves that server when a workflow deliberately sends it to another tool.
Who takes care of updates and security?
Your choice. Either your IT runs it based on our documentation, or we look after the server with updates, backups and monitoring.
Can I use AI with n8n in a GDPR-compliant way?
Yes. You can connect AI providers under a data processing agreement or run models locally on your own hardware, so especially sensitive data never leaves your environment.
